Dr. Christabel Lartey, DNP, PMHNP-BC

Dr. Christabel Lartey is a Board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a Doctor of Nursing degree from George Mason University. She holds board certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as well as an ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine) waiver to provide Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for those with substance use disorders.

Dr. Lartey has extensive experience in the Mental Health field treating patients with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions that have been in great need. Her experience spans nearly two decades, having worked for over 15 years as an inpatient psychiatric nurse and as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner since 2018. Dr. Lartey has practiced at various healthcare institutions including Los Angeles County Hospital (Los Angeles, CA), Northern Virginia Mental Health Institute (Falls Church, VA), Inova Healthcare System (Fairfax, Loudoun, and Leesburg, VA), Loudoun County Mental Health (Leesburg, VA), Outreach Recovery (Gaithersburg, MD), Brook Lane Health Services (Frederick and Hagerstown, MD), and Columbia Associates in Psychiatry (Sterling, Aldie, and Arlington, VA).
Her area of expertise includes Depression, ADHD, Anxiety Disorders, Bipolar Disorders, Psychotic Disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Insomnia, PTSD, and substance use disorders. Dr. Lartey sees each patient as a unique individual and considers their holistic circumstances when evaluating their mental health needs. She always discusses different treatment options with patients, creates an individualized care plan that will meet each patient’s needs, and works with them to achieve their care plan goals. Dr. Lartey makes a point to listen and tries to understand patients’ needs beyond simply prescribing medication. She sees the decision-making process as collaborative, educating the patient throughout the process as she combines medication and psychotherapy for the best results.
Dr. Lartey is accepting new clients between the ages of 8 through 45.
