Dr. K. Pierre Eklou, DNP, PMHNP-BC
Dr. K. Pierre Eklou is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing, College of Public Health, at George Mason University (GMU). Dr. Eklou graduated with a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from GMU in 2018.
He also holds an ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine) waiver to provide MAT (Medication-Assisted Treatment) for individuals with OUD (Opioid Use Disorders). He has practiced as an inpatient psychiatric and mental health nurse practitioner through UVA Community Health (formerly Novant Health UVA Health System) covering their Manassas and Haymarket campuses from September 2018 to October 2022. Dr. Eklou’s previous experience includes working at Northern Virginia Mental Health Institute (NVMHI), Virginia Hospital Center (VHC), and Inova Fairfax Medical Center (IFMC) among others.
His area of expertise includes Depression, ADHD, Anxiety Disorders, Bipolar Disorders, Schizophrenia and Psychotic Disorders, Insomnia, PTSD, and substance use disorders. Dr. Eklou uses an individualized approach with every patient he sees. Treatment decisions are made collaboratively.
Dr. Eklou is accepting new clients from age of 15 and older.
